2020 Toyota Highlander features new look, improved interior, better fuel economy

With the redesign of the exterior the overall dimensions of the interior improve with a cabin that feels roomier in the first and second rows. As is the case with most SUVs in the segment, the third row is cramped and should be reserved for children.

Cargo room, however, is much improved with 16 cubic feet behind the third row and 84.3 cubic feet of overall space.

There are five trims available for the Highlander including L, LE, XLE, Limited and Platinum. My tester was the top-of-the-line Platinum trim. It had an MSRP of $48,800. With a few optional equipment packages, my tester had a final price tag of $51,654.

Fuel economy for the 2020 Toyota Highlander sees a slight improvement from last year. Even my AWD tester saw a one MPG gain year over year. Overall, the AWD V6 Highlander has an EPA rating of 20 mpg/city and 27

NYC education union boss sued for foolishly wasting members’ dues

The president of Local 372 — which represents some of the lowest-paid city staffers — has drained the group’s coffers on salary hikes, unnecessary decorating and a $10 million Manhattan office space, two members allege in a new lawsuit.

Union members Paul Brathwaite, who is running for president, and Anthony Gordon, who is running for executive vice president, leveled the explosive charges against current president Shaun Francois in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court and aimed at shedding more light on the organization’s books.

Local 372 represents about 23,000 Department of Education employees who do not work as teachers or in security positions, the filing states.

The pair allege that Francois’ “profligate spending” has led to a $10 million decline in the group’s liquid assets over five years, the suit says.

In 2019, the union bought an office space for $9,289,821 at 20 West 33rd Street, taking out

Nike transforms a Boeing 787 interior to keep pro athletes rejuvenated and healthy on the fly!

None compares to Teague when we talk about designing interiors of Boeing commercial airliners. So, how could they resist the temptation to craft the interiors of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner tailor-made for pro athletes? The Seattle-based cross-discipline design firm collaborated with Nike to come up with the Athlete’s Plane that keeps athletes in top playing condition, even when they traverse three timezones to play a crucial away game. Specifically designed for a basketball team, the airborne facility has everything a player needs to be 100 percent mentally and physically fit to negate the “away disadvantage.” To extract the best performance out of players, when it matters, the quality of travel is important – for the team staff as well. To this end, Teague closely interviewed professional players, coaches, and operational staff to conceptualize this athlete-centric Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s interior.

Once the problem was identified, Teague worked with expert designers and

Call the police on parties and don’t mingle, says Patel

LONDON (Reuters) – British minister Priti Patel said on Tuesday she would call the police to report anyone who flouted a new ban on gatherings of more than six people, suggesting that people who stopped for a chat on the street were breaking new coronavirus laws.

COVID-19 cases across the UK have risen sharply in recent weeks, prompting the government to bring in the new rules to restrict socialising, at the same time as health bosses have said there are problems with accessing tests.

Patel said that people needed to help stop the spread of the disease, and that included calling the police on neighbours. She even suggested that families should not mingle with friends they bumped into on the street.

“If I saw something that I thought was inappropriate, then

Apple’s new Marina Bay Sands store in Singapore is opening on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The retail outlet attracted attention last month, even before opening, as it is truly different from every other Apple store — it’s a floating, glowing sphere, located in front of the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Now, in a blog post, Apple has shared some more info about the store that’s nearly ready to start welcoming visitors. The company says its dome is an all-glass structure comprised of 114 pieces of glass, additionally supported with 10 vertical mullions. This way, the store will provide its visitors a 360-degree view of the surrounding skyline, and the opening on top of the dome will provide natural light to the interior.

“Feel-good lounge” interior maximizes space, simplifies interface

The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 electric crossover will have an interior layout fairly similar to its ID.3 hatchback sibling.

That’s based on interior images VW released Friday. The ID.4 won’t be fully revealed until September 23, but it’s due for a production start later this fall and a U.S. arrival by the end of this year.

As in the ID.3, the dashboard is largely bare except for a central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. It also incorporates ID Light, an LED strip below the windshield that uses different-colored lights to convey messages, such as when the car has been locked and unlocked.

However, VW said the ID.4 will also have a high seating position—a crucial feature for any crossover. The vehicle will also boast large door openings for easy ingress and egress, as well as 30.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats in place, according to VW.
